9–12 digit document number. Covers one or more containers under the same contract.
Container number

Prefix (MAEU, MRKU, MSKU, MRSU, MNBU, PONU) + 7 digits. ISO 6346 standard. Tracks a single physical box.
Booking number

Pre-loading reservation ID. Useful for tracking shipments before a bill of lading has been issued.
What you see when tracking Maersk
The useful answer is not only where the vessel is. Terminal49 separates Maersk's transport milestones from destination-terminal facts, so you can tell whether a container is still moving, discharged but blocked, available for pickup, or already out of the terminal.

Maersk last free day, storage, and holds
A container can be discharged and still be unavailable. Before dispatching a truck, confirm customs and freight release, terminal holds, appointment access, and the last free day (LFD). LFD is the final day of the applicable free-time period, not a promise that a box can be collected.
Storage, demurrage, and detention rules vary by terminal, location, equipment, contract, and date. Use the terminal-provided values as an operational signal, then confirm the deadline and amount with Maersk or the terminal before relying on it.

- Confirm that the individual container is discharged.
- Check customs release, freight release, terminal holds, and availability.
- Verify LFD, storage or fee status, and appointment access with the terminal.
- After pickup, confirm Maersk's empty-return deadline and accepted location.
