Precision vs. Accuracy: Why Your Container Data Might Be Wrong
About This Video
Does your container tracking data give you the full picture? Matt Turner, Head of Data at Terminal49, explains the common pitfalls:
"Some ocean carriers tell you what happened—but only vaguely. For instance, they’ll say your container departed on November 20th but won’t specify 11:30 AM. That’s a precision issue. Was it picked up in Los Angeles, Long Beach, or which terminal? Precision matters."
Turner also warns about false positives. "You might see a status saying your container departed, but hours later, it disappears. It hadn’t left after all. These errors can disrupt your plans and put you behind."
That’s why Terminal49 verifies data across multiple sources, ensuring milestones are accurate, events are in order, and old data doesn’t mix with new. Want reliable container data? Watch the full video!
