Place of Receipt
The place of receipt is the location where the carrier takes custody of the cargo from the shipper at the start of the transportation journey. This location is also specified in the shipping documents and marks the beginning of the carrier’s responsibility for the shipment. The place of receipt can be a factory, warehouse, or any other agreed-upon point where the goods are handed over to the carrier for transport. Accurate documentation of the place of receipt is essential for tracking the shipment and ensuring proper handling throughout the logistics process.
